Day 56 – Power of the Haka

25 Feb

Was watching a documentary on Rugby today and what impressed me more than the game itself was the Maori dance performed by the New Zealand All Blacks before the game begins – Haka. It is performed with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment. It is a way of throwing down the gauntlet to the other team and daring them to accept the challenge. I really do wonder how the opposing team players would feel during this spectacle but I personally wouldn’t want to mess with these guys after the dance.
